The Freddies are the most prestigious member-generated awards in travel loyalty

The award ceremony was held at the National Air and Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Washington, D.C. on 27 April 2023.

The Freddie Awards are the most prestigious member-generated awards for travel loyalty programs and are voted by more than four million members worldwide who rank the features of airline and hotel loyalty programs to determine the winners.

The fact that it is not a jury, but the members who vote for the winner means that this award is an excellent indicator of which loyalty programs members are most satisfied.

The Reward Team would like to thank everyone who voted. It’s an honour not only to be named Program of the Year for a fifth time, but also to win awards in two more categories.

We receive an incredible amount of positive feedback from satisfied members and winning these Freddie Awards proves that we are on the right track to give members an exciting, innovative, and above all, rewarding program.

It is a great feeling to take home these awards, and it gives us strong motivation to continue to develop the program and make it even better for members.

Freddie Awards: ‘The Oscars’ of the travel loyalty industry

The Freddies are known as ‘The Oscars’ of the travel loyalty industry

The Freddie Awards were introduced in 1988 by InsideFlyer magazine’s Publisher and Editor Randy Petersen. They’re named in honour of Sir Freddie Laker, founder of Britain’s first all-jet air carrier, Laker Airways Limited, which became the largest individually and privately-owned airline in the world.

Petersen wanted to pay tribute to Laker’s pioneering marketing efforts and competitive spirit, creating the awards to recognise the world’s most outstanding frequent travel programs.

Today the Freddie Awards are known as ‘The Oscars’ of the travel loyalty industry. Out of the millions of ballots submitted, there are only a handful of winners chosen by voters.
